2021-2022 State Officers

Tanya Chavez, President

I am a Senior at Hastings High School and I am your SkillsUSA Nebraska State President. This will be my 6th year as
a member of SkillsUSA. Along with SkillsUSA, I am also involved in the National Honor Society, Band, Orchestra and Bowling.
Outside of school I like to go on trips, hangout with friends, cook, play basketball and other things. After school,
I plan to attend college and travel to new places. I am so excited to serve as your 2021-2022 State President!

Ian Fiala, Vice President

I am a senior at Seward High School. This will be my 4th year in SkillsUSA, and I will be serving as your High School State Vice President. Other things that I am involved in include the school bands, choirs, National Honor Society, and I serve as a school ambassador. Outside of school, I play in the community band, play classical and flamenco guitar, work at the Child Development Center, and I teach guitar. I plan on attending a four year college to obtain a major in Spanish and Education. I can’t wait to serve as a state officer and I’m excited to work with you all!

Hailey Teller, Secretary

I’m a Senior at Louisville Public School and am your SkillsUSA Nebraska State Secretary. This is my second year being a part of SkillsUSA. I was given the position of President in our Louisville chapter this year. Along with SkillsUSA, I am a part of the National Honor Society, Student Council, Cross County, and Track. After high school, I plan on going to college to get my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I am so excited to be a part of SkillsUSA.

Ashton Guo, Parliamentarian

I am currently a senior at North Platte Saint Patrick High School. I will be serving as your 2021-2022 SkillsUSA Nebraska State Parliamentarian. I also serve as my local chapter’s President. Along with SkillsUSA, I am involved in Student Council, Quiz Bowl, Speech, One Act, Elite Band, NHS, show choir, and I am bilingual in Chinese. Something I am looking forward to this year is gaining new experiences and new relationships through SkillsUSA.

Audrey Wang, Historian

My name is Audrey Wang and I am a senior at Seward High School. This year I will be serving as your 2021-2022 Historian on the state officer team. Along with SkillsUSA, I am involved in One Acts, musical, choir, marching band, show choir, and speech. Outside of school I enjoy spending my time with family and friends, playing the piano, reading, and also doing dance. In the future, I plan on going to college to be a biomedical engineer. I am honored and excited to be a SkillsUSA state officer and can’t wait to see what we all accomplish this year.

Brodie Stengel, Treasurer

My name is Brodie Stengel. I am currently a sophomore at Thedford High School. This is my 4th year in SkillsUSA and I will be serving as your State Treasurer. I am also involved in FCCLA, FFA, football, wrestling, track, one acts, and quiz bowl. Outside of School, I don’t have much time because I work on our family ranch. Since I am only a sophomore I don’t have any concrete plans for the future, but I am interested in the military. This year should be fun because we can meet in person and do awesome SkillsUSA group activities!  

Rachel Runyan, Reporter

My name is Rachel Runyan. I am a junior at Seward High School and I am serving as your State Reporter. In school, I am involved in many different school bands, Select Choir, Show Choir, musical, one acts, and I serve as an ambassador. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with family, playing the piano, and I work as a lifeguard at the Seward Dowding Municipal Pool. I am so excited to serve as your state Reporter and I can’t wait to work with you!
